Last year, Sunrise Power Solutions and Johnson Controls had announced another collaboration to install photovoltaic (PV) solar for the Deer Park School District. Today, we are proud to unveil the results of these installations! Each of their five schools have implemented a clean, renewable system tailored to power essential daily operations and reduce the need to rely on nonrenewable sources of energy that are harmful towards the environment.
Each location has installed a marvelous rooftop system to generate electricity, with the exception of Deer Park High School. The high school has installed a carport canopy at the east parking lot at a size of 254.04 kilowatt (kW) DC. Not only will these carport canopies provide protection from weather conditions for vehicles and their passengers, but they also serve as an outstanding display of the Deer Park School District's commitment towards a sustainable future.
As mentioned, the remaining four schools installed rooftop systems that will deliver for each location. The Robert Frost Middle School has installed a 188.18 kW DC rooftop system, with the John F. Kennedy Intermediate School installing a 120.77 kW DC system, and the two primary schools of John Quincy Adams and May Moore installing 139.68 kW DC and 143.08 kW DC systems, respectively. These systems provide sufficient energy and contribute to reducing the Deer Park School District's carbon footprint.
Sunrise Power Solutions and Johnson Controls are ecstatic with the completion of this project, highlighting another successful collaboration to contribute towards sustainable energy. These new systems at the Deer Park School District will go forth and inspire their students and faculty alike to make similar sustainable contributions. Our team looks forward to more projects with Johnson Controls and are eager to install more solar throughout not just Long Island, but all of New York and the Tri-State Area!
